Description
From Licores Sinc we want to discover the characteristics of Absinthe Serpis Classic 65 and some of the many secrets of this complex and delicious absinthe, the one with the highest alcohol content of our range of absinthes.
One of the elements that make up Absinthe Serpis Classic 65 is wormwood, or Artemisia absinthium, which belongs to the daisy family, and since ancient times has been attributed great medicinal value. Also called “holy herb”, this plant is native to the temperate regions of Europe, Asia and North Africa. In addition, it has been called the “mother of all herbs”, given its multiple healing properties. Among many other things, it was used as a stomach tonic, as an antiseptic and even as an aphrodisiac.
Another of the plants that make up the classic Serpis absinthe is fennel, which often grows wild along the Mediterranean coast. It is a perennial and highly aromatic herb, cultivated for use in gastronomy. It also has diuretic and carminative properties and is an excellent remedy for tired eyes and conjunctivitis.
Finally, anise is an herb from Southwest Asia and the eastern Mediterranean basin. Distillation of its seeds releases a volatile oil that is used in the treatment of digestive disorders.
Made according to the old formula, Classic65º absinthe is considered one of the most complex absinthes on the international market due to its high thujone content. Thujone is an essential oil from wormwood and many other plants that has antibacterial, emmenagogue and convulsant properties. However, it has caused controversy due to its hallucinogenic side effects.
Absinthe Classic65º has an intense and complex flavor, being suitable for drinking on its own, with water or slush. However, the most appropriate way to enjoy it is still through the traditional ritual: spoon with perforations and a sugar cube on top, serving the absinthe by soaking the lump, then setting it on fire to then pour cold water to taste through this spoon to reduce the content.
As you have been able to see, Absinthe Classic 65º is not just any distillate, but one of the most differentiated within the wide range we offer. One of the drinks that leaves no one indifferent. Faithful inspirer of great artists of the 19th century, and controversial for its effects, Classic 65º absinthe never misses an appointment.
