Herbero is a spirit drink based on expressly selected aromatic herbs macerated in a mixture of anise. It is produced in the Sierra de Mariola, in the north of the province of Alicante. This mountain range is famous for its abundance of medicinal and aromatic plants, some of which are used to make this liqueur. This beverage is obtained by distillation or maceration of the plants harvested in the mountains and a neutral alcohol of between 22% and 40% alcoholic content, obtaining a beverage with a color that can be transparent, or vary from yellow to light green or red. The plants used in the preparation must be at least four of the following: sage, chamomile, pennyroyal, lemon verbena, holy thistle root, peppermint, cat’s tail, Santònica, fennel, anise, lemon balm, agrimony, savory, zamarrilla, St. William’s wort, thyme, royal thyme and lavender.

Coffee liqueur is a liqueur made from coffee from Cocentaina, in the north of the province of Alicante in Spain. It is very popular in this area and its consumption is closely related to the Moors and Christians festivities of this place.

It should also be noted that there is a very similar drink, called Licor Café, which is typical of the Murcia and Galicia areas. However, the main difference between these two drinks is that the latter has a sweet taste, which makes it an ideal complement to drink or to accompany dessert.
